Link PlanRadar Tickets with QR codes to save time finding the right Ticket when working on-site. Scan the QR code with your camera or PlanRadar mobile app and the linked Ticket will open.

Note: You can also link NFC tags to Tickets.

How to enable

You need to enable this feature on your mobile device. Once enabled, it will be available for all Tickets.

    1. Open the PlanRadar mobile app
    2. Go to Settings
      IOS:

    3. Scroll down and turn on “Enable QR code feature”

    Note: This feature is only available on the iOS and Android apps.

How to order QR codes that work with the PlanRadar app

Important: QR codes must be ordered using specific information provided by PlanRadar. QR codes ordered without this information will not work with the PlanRadar app. To obtain this information, please contact [email protected].

How to use (link & unlink)

Link a Ticket to a QR code

  1. Open the Ticket you want to link to a QR code
  2. Open the “More”-menu (…) in the upper right /share button on iOS
  3. Click the “Link to QR code” button to open the camera
  4. Scan the QR code

Note: It is possible to link multiple Tickets to the same QR code by repeating those steps.
You can select a Ticket from a list when scanning a QR code with multiple links.

Note: Each Ticket can be linked to only one QR code at a time.

How to see if a Ticket is linked to a QR code

A) If a Ticket is linked to a QR code in the Ticket list, a QR code icon will be shown.

B) When you open a linked Ticket, there will be a section “Linked to: QR code”.

Unlink a Ticket from a QR Code

  1. Open the Ticket
  2. A) Open the “More”-menu (…) in the upper right
    or
    B) Scroll in the Ticket to the section called “linked to: QR Code” and tap it
  3. Click “Unlink QR code” button
  4. Confirm to delete the link between this Ticket and the QR code.

Note: Each Ticket can be linked to only one QR code at a time.

How to scan a QR Code to open a linked Ticket

There are two ways to open Tickets by scanning QR codes:

A)From within the PlanRadar App

  1. Open the Ticket list or plan view
  2. Open search bar

  3. Click the “QR code” button to open the camera

    Android:

    Note: If you don’t see the button, enable the feature in your app settings.

  4. Scan QR code to open the linked Ticket

B) Using your phone’s camera

  1. Open your camera app
  2. Scan the QR code
  3. Click the PlanRadar button / URL that appears on your screen
    iOS:

Tip: You can activate the flashlight while scanning to help in dark environments.
(light on/off-button in upper right of scan view)

Note: If there are multiple Tickets linked, you can select the Ticket you want to view from a list.

Note: When using the camera app, it is not necessary to enable the feature in PlanRadar’s mobile app settings

Troubleshooting

Why is it not possible to link a Ticket to a QR code?

Make sure you are using supported QR codes.

There are two possible reasons why you don’t see the “Link to QR code” button:

  1. Check if you enabled the feature for this device.

  2. Check if the Ticket is already linked to a QR code.
    See above – How to see if a Ticket is linked to a QR code
    Each Ticket can be linked to only one QR code at a time.

How can I link a Ticket to a different QR code?

If you want to link a Ticket to a different QR code, you have to unlink it first.
