The METSTRADE targets builders, naval architects, repair yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina operators and equipment manufacturers from all over the world. Showcasing the latest innovations and trends in leisure marine equipment will be portrayed with three exhibitions. Innovation – Theme of the year and every year

You can not think of 2020 and not imagine that innovation will be the main theme of our businesses and how we drive them forward towards high standards for the higher outcome. This year for the third time in a row there is a big part dedicated to the InnovationLab.

What is happening in the InnovationLab?

The centre platform at the show for all innovation initiatives, focusing on the Fame design award-nominated and winning products. Every section of the event is unmissable however the spotlight has been rerouting towards the shortlisted and winning companies for the boatbuilder awards, featuring many workshops, panel discussion, debates and presentations from market professionals.

The Sustainability panel discussions in 2019

Tuesday, November 19th, 1pm: The Challenge of Global Biofouling

Wednesday, November 20th, 1:15pm: How green are we a year on?

Thursday, November 21st, 12pm: End-of-Use boats, an update on progress.

The innovation stage will be occurring in an open audience seating area where all visitors can witness a large variety of trending topics in the leisure marine industry, engage with DAME-design award winner pitches and attend an interview with keynote speaker Hervé Gastinel, CEO Groupe Beneteau.

A new addition to the InnovationLab this year is the E-nnovation Lab where the main scope of discussion will be in favour of hybrid and electric engines and how they are becoming a necessity within the leisure marine market. The METSTRADE coped up with the trend and integrated the need in the form of hosting a panel discussion with a group of the market deepest experienced professionals,

  • Christoph Ballin – CEO of Torqeedo
  • Nigel Calder – President of Calder Marine Enterprises
  • Andrea Frabetti – CEO of SunSeeker
  • Ken Wittamore – Director of Triskel Marine

Our daily habits are becoming more unacceptable to many people who desire to remain positive towards how we are treating the world and its resources. The hybrid and electric engines step in with numerous benefits that include quietness, more efficient at a low speed, less smell, elimination of oil usage and transmission of fluids. A fair amount of share of the leading professionals in our world is following technological and innovative methods for achieving their goals in many industries without compromising the shelter of the environment and the public.
